The verdict is in. Stress can kill you! That may surprise you only because you’re not familiar to how stress really works. Let me explain in terms of cancer and give you some clarity on the matter.
Research shows that heightened levels of adrenaline and cortisol, the two main stress hormones, interferes with the ability to kill cancer with chemotherapy. It appears that those two hormones cause cancer cells to emit a chemical making them chemo resistant.
Fear is also a huge part of cancer. It doesn’t take much of an imagination to realize everyone doing chemo is highly stressed. Not only do you have a disease that may kill you, the treatments themselves are stressful. Imagine getting poison pumped into your veins and knowing that your own emotional state lowers your chances of survival.
Stress also shuts off your natural killer cells, the main part of the search and destroy tumors phase of your immune system. Can life get any worse? Luckily for me I never did chemo. I do know all about the fear and stress part of cancer though. I was locked into it for a few weeks and paralyzed into inaction. Once I took some of my formula Inner Peace, I began to climb out of it.
In my heart of hearts, I know that adaptogenic herbs saved my life. I was able to regain the executive function of my brain and go into action. I began researching and implementing the plan that ultimately led to killing my cancer.
