Managing Anxiety During the Holidays

It’s that time of the year when all of our stressors seem to magnify in intensity. All of the pressures of keeping up, entertaining guests and eating combine to overload our already fragile nervous systems.

Everyone experiences a little anxiety once in a while, but for some it seems a way of life. Anxiety is not always a medical condition or a brain disorder. You don’t always need to medicate to change your situation.

Take a good look at what you are eating. Too much sugar can turn normal stress into anxiety as well as too few carbohydrates. Don’t skip meals and live off of caffeine. That combination can put your adrenals into overdrive and bring on more anxiety.
